19 Dec We begin our 5-wine countdown to Christmas! Today’s featured wine: Bértrand Cotes de Roses Rosé
We don’t have the ten wines of Christmas…that would be a lot of wine!…but we do have five wines we’ll feature…one per day…as we countdown to the big day.
This is a fun group. Four different varietals (five, if you consider California pinot and Oregon pinot to be different animals) and a wide range of flavors. All five share some common traits: they are reasonably priced, they are easy to find around town and they will all work well with food or on their own at a holiday party.
Our Tuesday wine of the day is a familiar favorite. We’ve touted Gérard Bertrand Cote des Roses Rosé before and we’re touting it again. It tastes good. With its glass stopper and rose-embossed base, it looks good. And it’s priced good. That’s bad grammar but you get the point. Sip it at a party or match it up with generally anything you’re cooking up for your holiday feast. If you haven’t gotten the word, rosé isn’t just for summer anymore!
