Late-summer sipper – Lange 2019 Willamette Valley pinot gris

It seems to happen every September.

Before summer sets sail, it always serves up one last stretch of warm weather.

It’s Wine Thursday!,  our weekly good-wine-at-a-good-price-

that-you-can-find recommendation.

This week, we have a suggestion that’s ideal for the last vestiges of the season.

Lange’s 2019 Willamette Valley pinot gris is so young,  it shows

a hint of effervescence, i.e., fizz.

But there’s nothing wrong with youthful exuberance…or this wine.

It has the classic pinot gris taste profile:  zesty lemon-lime flavors with medium acidity.

While it’s an easy drinker on its own, this pinot gris would also pair effortlessly

with fish, shellfish and light chicken dishes.

It’s best when served well-chilled which makes it an ideal beverage for summer’s swan song.

We found Lange Willamette Valley pinot gris at Fred Meyer for $16.49.

It’s at Safeway for $16.99.  QFC has it at $17.99.

Online shoppers…it’s currently sold out at wine.com.

But you can order it from Lange for $19.
