05 May Oregon Wine Month continues! 2014 Four Graces Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Last night, I was going back and forth: recommend an Oregon red or an Oregon white for the weekend?
This morning, chilly with an occasional thunderstorm. Case closed. Red it is.
We continue our salute to Oregon wine month with a quintessential Oregon pinot noir,
2014 Four Graces Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
This one checks all of the Oregon pinot taste boxes: cherry, earthy, good acidity, just enough tannins.
And that’s nice but…
Can we talk here?
In other vintages, the Four Graces Willamette Valley has been, IMO, just OK, nothing to get excited about.
But vintages can make a significant difference. (More about that in later posts.)
2014 was a crazy-great vintage in the Willamette Valley.
As a result, Four Graces benefited and so did all of us who like an easy-drinking Oregon pinot for less than $30.
At selected Costcos, less than $20! That’s a real steal.
(BTW, Four Graces is named in honor of the four daughters of the original winery owner.)
