It’s Oregon wine month!

Little darlin, it’s been a long cold lonely winter.  Especially here in Oregon.

Finally, here comes the sun.  And right along with it, here comes Oregon wine month!

OK, it’s a bit of a Hallmark holiday, created by the local wine industry as a “state-wide month of wine tasting, wine learning and wine loving.”

But at Pat The Wine Guy, we welcome Oregon wine month as an opportunity to tout some of the outstanding pinot noir, pinot gris, pinot blanc, chardonnay, tempranillo, and on and on and on produced by the over-700 Oregon wineries.  (That just blows me away.  Over 700 wineries now in this state!)

All of this month, we’ll evaluate and recommend Oregon wines that retail in the PTWG sweet spot, between $15-$30,  and we’ll tell you where to find them in Portland-area stores.

And we’ll revive the always-popular feature, our “Battle of the under-$30 Oregon Pinots!”

Spoiler alert:  there will not be a single winner in the Battle of the under-$30 Oregon pinots”.  2014 was such an outstanding vintage in Oregon, there are far too many good-to-great 2014 Oregon pinots under $30 to narrow it down to just one.

After surviving the wettest, wildest winter on record, we deserve a break.  And a glass.  So have one.  Heck, have two.  It’s Oregon wine month!  And that’s worth celebrating.

More to come!
