Want to break away from rosé? Here’s a great alternative: Pine Ridge 2016 Chenin Blanc Viognier

It is hot.  It will remain hot, at least for the next few days.

Looks like rosé every day, correct?  But I suppose all rosé every day makes Jack a dull boy…and leaves your palate thirsting for some variety.

Riding to the rescue is a zippy white blend from Pine Ridge, their 2016 Chenin Blanc Viognier.

This is a bit of a curve ball from Pine Ridge, a Napa winery best known for stick-to-your-ribs Cabernet Sauvignon.  But with the chenin blanc providing zesty acidity and the viognier supplying some body and fruit flavor, the iconic cab producer has created a very nice white blend.  This will work well as an aperitif, party beverage or simply a cool refresher on a hot summer afternoon/evening.

This one works best when it’s well-chilled so if you put a bottle in the fridge then forgot about it, fuh-get about it.  Colder is better here.

It will be on the shelf at most Fred Meyers, QFCs and Safeways.
